Health care providers prescribe Paxil to treat major depressive disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia, and other mental health conditions like anxiety disorders, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Depression, also known as major depressive disorder or clinical depression, is a mood disorder that negatively affects how you think, behave, and feel. Untreated depression can lead to a range of emotional and physical issues. The symptoms of depression may vary from person to person. They may appear mild in some, while they can be debilitating in others.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a chronic condition that causes unwanted and uncontrollable thoughts or fears (obsessions). These obsessive thoughts lead individuals to engage in repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Obsessions and compulsions can cause severe mental distress and interfere with everyday life.
Bulimia nervosa, commonly referred to as bulimia," is a potentially life-threatening eating disorder. Those with bulimia will go through episodes of “binge eating,” where they cannot control the amount of food they eat, followed by “purging.” Bulimia, if left untreated, can lead to extremely serious medical complications—even death. Due to the cycle of binging and purging, individuals with bulimia can seriously dehydrate themselves, damage their internal organs (including the heart and kidneys), and erode the enamel of their teeth.
Premenstrual dysphoria disorder is characterized by severe symptoms at the onset of menstruation. PMDD can cause extreme mood swings, irritability, depression, and physical symptoms like breast tenderness.
Paxil is also prescribed to treat anxiety disorders. A person who suffers from an anxiety disorder may have constant feelings of worry, difficulty concentrating, and an inability to relax. If left untreated, anxiety may eventually interfere with work or school performance, personal relationships, and other daily functions.

Paxil can be used to treat depression by increasing the activity of the serotonin transporter, increasing the levels of norepinephrine and dopamine, or increasing serotonin levels in the brain.
Depression is a mental illness characterized by the excessive body's response to stress, fatigue, depression, and weight gain. Paxil increases the levels of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine in the brain. This increases the transmission of mood-related impulses.
Anxiety and depression can be treated with medications to help reduce the anxious and depressed feelings. These medications help to relax the muscles in the brain, which can help to regulate mood. For some people, Paxil can also be used to treat OCD.
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is the inability to bear children during menstruation. PMDD can cause a number of serious health problems. It can cause irritability, loss of interest in sex, and poor sexual relationships. If you suffer from PMDD, talk to your doctor.

I just started taking this medication. I was wondering if it would be ok to take it if I was on it? I read somewhere that it would cause a lot of side effects and they are often caused by other medications. Can anyone help me out with any other meds?

Hi,
If you're taking an antidepressant, you shouldn't have to take it, even if it's been for a while. Paxil, on the other hand, is one of the few medications that can cause side effects. Some studies have shown a greater risk of side effects when you take it with an antidepressant. The risk may be higher for people who take it with other antidepressants.
I'll let my doctor/pharmacist know how much of this medication you're taking. It's hard to know when to take a medication that you should take regularly.

I've had Paxil for about a year, and I just recently started taking it. It was a bit unusual, but I just had a panic attack at the time, and I started taking it again. When I finally started taking it, it was almost completely gone. I was very concerned, but not sure if it was because of the side effects or just the lack of control I had. I decided to give it a go and start the next dose. If you're worried about side effects, Paxil doesn't work for you.
Thanks for all this information.
You're welcome, my friend. It's important to have the right meds for you, and to talk to your doctor about your situation. I just wanted to share with you that I've been taking the medication for almost a year now. I am not sure if it is safe for me to take Paxil. I don't really have a problem with that, but I am worried about the side effects. I can't stress enough that there may be other issues with it. If you have any questions, you can always contact my office or.
Thank you, I feel much more relaxed now. This is the first time I have taken Paxil with a prescription from my doctor. My doctor said I had a good time, and I am glad I did.
I took a Paxil at the beginning of the month, and I have not taken it for a while. I have been taking it for the past couple of months and it's been very strong. I did not notice any side effects, but the symptoms are similar to other antidepressant medications. I just want to know if it makes a difference in the results I get when I take it. If it does, I will keep taking it. If it does not, I will discuss it with my doctor.
Thank you so much for all this information, it really helps!
I've been on the drug for about a year and I don't see any side effects. I'm glad to see the results. The side effects are similar to other antidepressants. I hope to continue to take it for a while longer.
You're welcome, I'm glad you had the information.
